About the SMFFL

We are a non-profit cherokee county recreation department sponsored league located in Murphy, NC. This flag football league was established in 2008 and is heading into its eighth exciting season in the Spring. Each season the competition gets better and definitely tougher!

League Overview

SEASON START DATE: March 21st

ENTRY FEE: $20 Per Person (14 Man Roster Limit)

LENGTH OF SEASON: Tbd (Based on # of teams). Games played once a week on Sat. mornings.

WHERE: Field 6 (Last Field) on Konehete Park Murphy, NC

END OF SEASON: Single, double, or triple elimination playoff format. (Varies each season)

RULES: 7 on 7 screen blocking non contact (SEE RULES PAGE)

CHAMPION: Typically championship t-shirts & bragging rights

We Provide You With:

Triple Threat Flag Football Belts: Must use belts that we provide

Team Numbered Pinnies: You can have your own jerseys but they must be same colored and numbered for stat keeping

Footballs: You can bring your own football but it must be regulation size and approved by league

Other equipment: All referee equipment, scoreboard, stat sheets, yard markers, etc. will be provided.
